Avalanche Studios Group to Open New Location in Montreal

STOCKHOLM - Avalanche Studios Group today announced that it will open a new location in Montreal, Canada. The new studio will be Avalanche Studios' third location, joining its existing studios in Stockholm and New York City.
WB Games Avalanche is where a family of artists, engineers, and other talented craftspeople come together to create entire universes of fun and magic. Avalanche Software is an American video game developer and subsidiary of Warner Bros Games based in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was founded in October 1995.
The Montreal studio will be Avalanche Studios' first location in Canada, and it will focus on developing unannounced projects for next-generation consoles and PC. The studio will be led by industry veteran Kevin Ployer, who has over 20 years of experience in the video game industry, including roles at Ubisoft and EA.
“We are excited to open our new studio in Montreal,” said Pim Holfve, CEO of Avalanche Studios Group. “Montreal is a great city with a thriving gaming industry, and we are looking forward to contributing to the local community.”
The new studio is expected to open in early 2024, and it will initially have a team of around 50 developers. Avalanche Studios Group is currently hiring for a variety of positions at the new studio, including programmers, artists, and designers.
